Chickadee

I finished today my design on Catherine's RR (RR organized on Renée's board).

Catherine's theme is birds. Her fabric is unusual but after a few stitches, it is OK and very pleasant to stitch on.

I chose to stitch "Boreal Chickadee" (Crossed Wing Collection). This designer is one of Catherine's favourite and her bird came from the same designer.

This design was easy and quick to stitch (I did it in 3 days) and also very realistic.

I don't know yet what I'm going to stitch this evening. In fact, I have 2 options:
- sew my needleroll (BTW thanks a lot for your comments on my previous post, they were much appreciated)
- start the needleroll for the exchange

Hard to choose...

Needleroll 1

I spent 3 hours yesterday evening to sew it by hand but I'm very happy with the result!

I didn't think it would take so long to sew it, but the fabric was oversewn on 2 sides only, so I had to do a small hem on the 2 others...

I hope it won't take as long to sew the second one...

Another one

I'm going to finish this one as a needleroll too. At the beginning it was a sampler ("Friends in stitches IV by The Needle's Work"), but I decided to stitch only some parts of the designs so I could finish it as a needleroll.

The fabric is a Silkweaver one (the same as the one I use for the Diane Graebner and previous needleroll designs) and the thread is from Atelier du Pic Vert (I love the colour).

I'll try to finish the needlerolls this evening...

It is still very hot here and it is so hard to feel asleep... I think at 1 AM this morning I was still awake... Plus, Plume was in the bed with me... Of course, she didn't want me to sleep LOL.

We had a storm and it rained a lot at 4 AM the sun is back and I guess it's going to be hot again today...

For a needleroll

As I've joined a needleroll exchange, I need to practice a little before I stitch one for my partner. Until today, I just made one, so I can't say I'm an expert in the subject...

I stitched these lines and I just need to sew the needleroll to finish it.

I'm not sure my Mum will have time to sew it because with my Dad theyare about to change the wallpaper in their living room, so they're going to have a lot of work soon.
So I have two options: I try to hand-sew it or I wait for my Mum to have time to do it... What do you think I should do?

It's too hot!!!

Here are some pictures of Plume. Poor little one, she doesn't where to go to find a refreshing place... (with the fan on, it's still 29°C/85°F in the flat...).

This is my mood right now:

Can you believe it? I live in Normandy where it rains a lot and I think it's the first time I'm asking for some rain... I think I get sunburned on the head...

Ready for a new exchange!

I received today the name of my partner for the needleroll exchange organized by my friend Isabelle on Renée's board.

Of course, I can't tell you who this person is as it's going to be a secret until she receive her needleroll. I won't show you any progress on my work either.

I'm very pleased with my name as this sticher is someone of whom I visit the blog regularly. She's a talented sticher, so I'm going to do my best to please her. I already have an idea of the design I'm going to stitch and I have the perfect fabric for it. I ordered the threads this afternoon and I hope to receive them soon.

Since that day, I think I'm going to practice by stitching an other needleroll and this time, I will show you pictures of my progress.

HD: Diane Graebner

I finished it last evening.

As I already said, it was a real pleasure to stitch this one and I hope my friend will like it.

I don't know if I'm going to stitch tonight. It is still very hot here and stormy too. It rained this afternoon, but it was a kind of tropical rain, not refreshing at all... So I'm not sure I'll have energy to start a new project...

Almost done

Only two crows and some grass and I'll be done with my Diane Graebner design. If everything's OK, I'll show you a picture of the finished design tomorrow...

Here is what I've done.

It could have been done yesterday, but it was so hot that I didn't have a lot of energy to stitch a lot (I only did the grey part close to the boy's feet).

Kimono mouse

Today, I'm going to show you a beautiful kimono my Mom sewed to dress a mouse.

I bought it as a kit (the mouse was sold separately). The kit contained the fabrics and the japanese explanations (fortunately with a french translation). Despite the french translation, Mom found it hard to realise the kimono. She was wise to do it first using some of her own fabrics so she was sure she wouldn't waste the supplies.

My only contribution was to do the string for the bag.

WIP: Diane Graebner

Here is my progress on Diane Graebner's design. The more I work on it, the more I'm pleased with the result. I still have the girl and the groudn to stitch. I hope I'm done with this design by the end of the month as I have several designs to stitch during this summer (and I want to respect my commitments)...

Today is a day off here in France as it's our National Day (Bastille Day), so it means fireworks and parties... I saw a lovely firework yesterday evening and there is another one tonight, I guess it will be as beautiful as the other one.

Montgolfier balloon

Yesterday evening, while I was stitching, I saw something in my field of vision, so I raised my eyes from my work and saw a montgolfier balloon flying over the trees.

It was the first time I saw one here.
I don't know exactly what distance from me the balloon was, but it looked quite big.

It should be very nice to fly over the area except if you suffer from vertigo, like me...

A little parcel from New Zealand

Look at what I received from Nicki.

- a gorgeous needle roll
- some soap with a good smell of lavander
- a Drawn Thread chart to complete my collection
- some lovely beads and buttons
- a card with a cat (this one looks like Plume)

A touch of green

I added a touch of green on my Diane Graebner project. I'm done with almost half of the design.

Don't pay much attention to the colour of the fabric on the picture, in fact, it is clearer than what the picture shows.

I really like this design! This afternoon, I'll start to stitch the flowers.
